Meet Anna Richey

I’m Anna. When I became a mom, I felt like I lost myself. I struggled with depression, anxiety, OCD, and deep grief. There were days I felt invisible. Like I couldn’t fulfill the role I was being asked to.

But being a mother changed me. It softened me and deepened my understanding of what Christ actually carried for me. I realized Jesus doesn’t expect me to fit a mold perfectly. He sits with me in the dark while we work things out.

That’s why J209’s mission is everything to me. I know what it’s like to feel hopeless. And I know Jesus is the only One who truly pulls us out. If our music can crack open even one heart and whisper, “You are seen. You are loved. Stay,” then it’s worth it.

When we perform, I feel every lyric. My songwriting heart makes me connect deeply to the story behind each song. I love cheering others on and creating spaces where people feel safe enough to feel. What a beautiful thing to have Jesus on our side!
