Meet Jarom Hess
Hey hey, what’s up!
My name is Jarom and if you’ve ever felt like the odd one out…in church, in your friend group, or even just in your own head…I get it. I’ve been there.
One day while out driving for a rideshare app, I was spiraling internally, convinced maybe God had forgotten me… or worse, He never really cared. I picked up a woman who told me she had prayed for a kind driver that day. She looked at me and said, “God knows you by your kindness.” That moment hit me hard. It reminded me that even when I feel unseen, God is working through me. Even when I feel strange or out of place, I’m still His.
That’s why J209’s mission matters so much to me. I want the lost, the angry, the skeptical, the exhausted — the ones who feel like they don’t quite belong — to know Jesus meets them right there. Not after they clean up. Not after they figure it out. Right there in the moments we feel broken.
On stage, I love bringing enthusiasm and goofiness. Those huge, climactic moments where I can just let loose, are some of the best reminders of Christ’s love. When I see someone in the audience doing the same — fully feeling it, fully alive — that’s everything to me.
